Following a discussion of the definition and measures of risk-taking behavior in real life and laboratory, this chapter reviews meta-analyses, registry studies, and large prospective studies that documented links between ADHD and risk-taking behavior in several domains: substance use, sex, driving, gambling, finance, lifestyle, and delinquency. One of the most concerning aspects of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is its association with numerous risk-taking behaviors.
